ZERMATT, Switzerland (July 17, 2014). The Matterhorn Base Camp on the Hörnligrat in Zermatt will serve as an interim camp for alpinists attempting the Matterhorn in the summer of 2014. Twenty-five aluminum tents accommodate two people each and serve as backup during the renovation of the Hörnli Hut. The Hörnli Hut will reopen in July 2015. That same summer, the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn will be celebrated.

I attended the Press & Editorial Photography course at the Falmouth University in Great Britain and received a Bachelors degree in Science of Business Administration. After an intense internship as wire photographer for the press photo agency KEYSTONE-SDA and likewise as staff photographer at the renowned Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung NZZ, today I'm working as a freelance photographer for national and international newspapers, magazines, companies and agencies. Simplicity, serenity and minimalism paired with authenticity and a pinch of humour, that's the core of my picture style. As a Swiss country bumpkin I grew up in a remote alpine environment, enjoying freeride skiing, hiking and paragliding in my leisure time.
