A series by Bund editor Hans Galli on the various successor companies to the massively downsized Ascom Group. The occasion is the sale of the last Bernese business unit of the former flagship company, announced in 2012. Surprisingly, the Ascom trail leads to a considerable number of companies that today—either individually or as part of a group—successfully sell niche products from Bern all over the world. Hans Galli visited each of these companies together with a Bund photographer and describes the people and history behind the company names, which are virtually unknown to the public.
