It's quiet, still, peaceful, time stands still, memories have faded. Each of us is alone, yet somehow connected. I'm spending my first day at Sonnweid. A home for the care and support of people with dementia. Most are in the advanced stages. They don't notice me. I notice them. May I take photos?

Mara Truog, 1977, in Bern geboren, liess sich in London und Zürich zur Fotografin ausbilden und schloss 2002 an der ZHDK Studienbereich Fotografie ab. Sie arbeitet seither als freie Fotografin für diverse Magazine und Zeitschriften, mit dem Schwerpunkt Portrait - und Reportage Fotografie.
