Around 50 years ago, residential care in Switzerland was undergoing a transformation. The so-called "Heimkampagne" (Home Campaign) distanced itself from previous methods of education. It was precisely at this time that a new residential care facility was being built in Lucerne. The Utenberg Children's and Youth Housing Scheme stood and continues to stand for a modern form of residential care. This article presents the settlement today and looks back at its history.
