The Sune-Egge is a hospital for people with addiction disorders. In this former residential building – in the heart of Zurich's upscale neighborhood – it's cramped, hectic, and above all, different! Patients are allowed to smoke in the hallways, and hospital beds don't have room in the building's only elevator. It's an institution run by Pastor Sieber's Social Services. I conducted several conversations with the drug-addicted patients prior to my series, building trust. Most are survivors of the open drug scene in Platzspitz and Letten. This phase was the most difficult of the production, as access to these people isn't easy and requires time. Time, which is very limited in the daily work of local journalism. I handled the entire production – concept, filming, writing, editing – entirely on my own. The series aired in May 2013 and was repeated in August.
