In the summer of 2010, the musical "The Black Brothers" was performed in Walenstadt. It tells the story of boys from the Verzasca Valley who were indentured to Milan as chimney sweeps' assistants. In Eastern Switzerland, where the musical is being performed, the indentured child system also has a long history. The author explores the Swabian gang, using archival footage from those affected.
