Geboren am 2. Juni 1961 in Heiligendorf/Wolfsburg, Deutschland. Fotolehre in einem Studio für Werbefotografie in Köln. Nach Festanstellung freie Tätigkeit und Wechsel in den Bildjournalismus. Seit 1993 als Fotograf, zuerst frei, dann angestellt für die Nachrichtenagentur Reuters in Bonn, Berlin und seit November 2007 in Zürich tätig.
