Gold Series for the Christmas Season Dear Sir or Madam, The Christmas and holiday season presents a challenge for local editorial teams: They're expected to print atmospheric, Advent-themed articles – and at the same time, apart from the Santa Claus and nativity celebrations and Christmas dinners, there's not much going on. To put it bluntly: politicians are busy cleaning up or heading off for winter sports holidays, and businesses are either in peak season or settling accounts. Every year, the editorial team of the "Surseer Woche" and its flagship papers, "Trienger Woche" and "Sempacher Woche," takes on the task of enriching this journalistically lukewarm time with a small series. This year, they dedicated themselves to the topic of "gold," the color that characterizes the Christmas season in our region. They then went on a search for traces of gold – across all departments. Several articles were published between November 25 and December 23 – all completely different (see insert). We're eager to hear your opinion on this idea and are therefore happy to register for the "Local Journalism Print" competition. Best regards, The Surseer Woche editorial team.
