We were producing a multi-part interview series for the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper about contemporary life in the "Niederdorf," Zurich's old town. I was commissioned to write a personal memoir as the opening piece for the series, which would demonstrate the significance Niederdorf once held (among young people).

Ich habe vor rund 30 Jahren als Zeitungsverkäufer beim Tages-Anzeiger angefangen, später als Sekretär im Sport-Ressort gearbeitet, dann als Jung-Redaktor zum Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich gewechselt. Später gehörte ich zum Freelance-Gründungsteam der "Bellevue"-Seite ("Tages-Anzeiger"), 2006 wurde ich im Zürich-Ressort fest angestellt, ein paar Jahre danach wechselte ich ins Kultur-Ressort, vor drei Jahren auf Wunsch der Chefredaktion wieder zurück ins Zürich-Team, wo ich als Allrounder Stadtgeschichten, Gastro- und Kulturberichte, Sportliches und ab und an auch Politisches abhandle.
