Leave, stubbornly. Gambia – Niger – Libya 2015 / 2017

Michael Zumstein

In just a few years, Gambia has become the world's leading country for illegal immigration. To escape unemployment, corruption, and the authoritarianism of its regime, the country is losing its youth. These thousands of young people are leaving for a fantasy Europe, in search of a better life. All of them prefer to "take their chances" and perhaps die on the road rather than stay at home.
