On May 7, 2021, EV Zug won its second championship title in 23 years. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ice hockey season was marked by quarantines, game postponements, and games behind closed doors. The highlight was the final game against HC Genève Servette, which was attended by 50 fans. The evening was crowned by spontaneous celebrations with thousands of fans outside the stadium.
