The child workers of the cemetery

Tzivan Derveaux

Bolivia has more than 800,000 child and adolescent workers. Among them is the Grave Cleaners Corporation. They range in age from 7 to 17 and are armed with water bottles, rags, and a pan flute made from plastic pipes. For a few Bolivian pesos, they clean tombstones and pray for the souls of the dead.
