The shock in Bondo is still deep after one of the most massive landslides in Swiss history struck Piz Cengalo on Wednesday morning, August 23. Eight hikers died – almost all of Bondo's residents were evacuated. Some were allowed to return to their homes on Friday afternoon. But then nature doubled down with another debris flow.

«Fotografie ist meine Tür zur Welt. Ich bin eine neugierige Person und kann mich für alle möglichen Themen begeistern. Fotografie ist für mich der Schlüssel, um an Orte zu kommen und Personen zu treffen, was ohne die Kamera nicht möglich wäre.» Thomas Egli studierte Camera Arts in Luzern. Gleich nach dem Studium tauchte er in einem Praktikum beim Tages-Anzeiger in die Welt des Journalismus ein. Für den Tages-Anzeiger fotografierte er Persönlichkeiten aus Kunst und Politik und realisierte Reportagen. Jetzt fotografiert er als freier Fotograf im Auftrag von Zeitungen, Magazinen und Firmen.
