The Diablerets glacier has yielded the bodies of a couple who disappeared in 1942. They were a 40-year-old shoemaker and his 37-year-old schoolteacher wife, who had set out on foot on August 15, 1942, from the village of Chandolin to feed their cattle in the mountains. Their daughter, 79-year-old Marceline Udry-Dumoulin, is retracing her parents' steps, attracting media attention worldwide.
