In our profile, we wanted to get to the bottom of the phenomenon that is Mario Fehr. He is undoubtedly one of Zurich's most well-known and polarizing politicians. How did this man manage to become the best-elected government councilor without the backing of a party? How did he become who he is today? And what price has his success cost him?

1982 in Schaffhausen geboren. Studium der Germanistik, Publizistik und Philosophie an der Universität Zürich. Erste journalistische Erfahrungen beim Germanistikmagazin Denkbilder und als Volontär bei der Zürichsee-Zeitung. 2007 Eintritt in die Redaktion der Schaffhauser Nachrichten und dort bis 2012 vor allem zuständig für die städtische Politik. Danach Leitung des ersten Bundes der SN und damit verantwortlich für die Ressorts Ausland, Inland, Wirtschaft und Vermischtes. Im Januar 2014 Wechsel ins Ressort Zürich der NZZ, mit Schwerpunkten in der Gesundheitspolitik und der Entwicklung des Zürcher Unterlandes. Daneben auch regelmässig Desk-Chef im Ressort.
