With a transport of aid supplies from Biel to the center of Paris, nearly 1,000 refugees were living in an illegal refugee camp in front of the office where they were supposed to submit their asylum applications. The camp had formed itself and was run by overwhelmed volunteers. That night, frustration erupted in street battles. The illegal camp was subsequently dismantled.
