During the summer of 2023, numerous forest fires broke out across Europe. This included a firestorm in Upper Valais: a firestorm destroyed over 100 hectares of forest. Freelancers Tobias Tscherrig (text) and Pascal Gertschen (images) are familiar with the local conditions and weave images and text into a multi-layered report. The report, "Silence. No Chirping. Nothing," was published in Schweizer Illustrierte.
