Otto Hostettler ist seit über 25 Jahren hauptberuflich im Journalismus tätig. Stationen waren die Solothurner Zeitung (1989 – 1992), Berner Zeitung (1992 – 2005), K-Tipp (2005 – 2007). Seit 2007 arbeitet er als Redaktor/Reporter beim Beobachter; 2016 schloss Otto Hostettler an der Hochschule Luzern einen MAS in Economic Crime Investigation ab. Er ist Mitgründer des Schweizer Recherchenetzwerks investigativ.ch sowie Co-Präsident der Transparenzplattform lobbywatch.ch. Zudem unterrichtet er Recherche beim Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen SRF.
