SwissExpo is one of the three most important cattle shows in the world. Every year, over 1,000 cows and cattle from several countries are presented by cattle breeders. The cows are prepared for the show in the exhibition halls in Geneva and presented to a jury and the public. The competition also sheds light on conventional farming, which is primarily concerned with maximizing yield.

Yoshiko Kusano, 1971, lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende Fotografin in Bern. Die Tochter eines Japaners und einer Schweizerin kennt keine Berührungsängste und taucht gern in Welten ein, die vielen verschlossen sind: Für das Buch «Hindelbank» verbrachte sie Zeit mit eingewiesenen Frauen* der JVA Hindelbank, dem einzigen Frauengefängnis der Schweiz, für die Arbeit «Bordelle» erkundete sie die Arbeitsräume von Sexarbeiter*innen. Das Geschehen unter der Bundeshauskuppel begleitet sie fotografisch seit mehr als 20 Jahren. Sie fotografiert regelmässig für’s Theater, Zeitschriften und Medien und arbeitet für Kunden aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Kultur. 2019 gründete sie das Fotografinnen*-Kollektiv «Purple Eye» zur Dokumentation des feministischen Streiks. Das Kollektiv publizierte das Buch „WIR/NOUS- Fotografinnen* am Frauen*streik“ und setzte 2021, das Projekt «50-50-50», anlässlich des Jubiläums zum Frauenstimmrecht um. Yoshiko Kusano ist Mitglied der Agentur LUNAX.
