The idea for this report came to me in the spring, during a walk in the Jura. I met a shepherd on the trail... a Romanian one! He explained to me that the profession was being practiced less and less by Swiss people, due to the arduous nature of the work but also the isolation. It seemed to me that this little-known phenomenon said a lot about our times. Their testimony seemed essential to me.
