In four chapters, covering a six month period in total, the team of authors relates the history and stories of the FC Emmenbrücke. The football club is representative of 76 000 clubs and societies across Switzerland; the 1400 football clubs are represented by key data on a map. In the introduction, reference is made to the social relevance of associations. This is followed by portraits of this football club’s management. Next, the juniors have their say. Drama in the third chapter: the first team fails to progress and the coach is replaced. Chapter four is dedicated entirely to one woman, the good soul of the FC Emmenbrücke: she runs the clubhouse, washes the jerseys, and cleans the locker rooms. Videos, in which different protagonists are asked the same set of questions, reveal a holistic perspective of the football club as a representative microcosm of Switzerland’s entire range of clubs and associations.
