Since private investors acquired the Swiss Lake Constance Shipping Company (SBS), which was supposed to be sold to the Germans, relations between the two sides have been strained. The leaked minutes of an SBS board meeting listed exasperating landing fees for scheduled ships. Confronted with these facts, the captain took a stand. The first announcement resonated across national borders.
