Donor 5010 was born in 1970, has straight, dark blond hair and light brown eyes. He does not wear tight underpants, his parents are professors and of French descent – and sperm donor 5010 is a yes-donor. This means that when they reach the age of 18, his children are allowed to contact him. For years, journalist Anja Jardine has been following families who have children by donor 5010: a single mother from New York, an Orthodox Jew from Israel, a lesbian couple from Colorado – to date, more than 50 sons and daughters of 5010 have come forward. The total is estimated between 70 to 100. In her five-part series Anja Jardin identifies the circumstances that have led to sperm donation, and provides insight into the lives of the children and adolescents. She succeeds in finding and meeting donor 5010. With this interview, in the last part of the series, she concludes the extraordinary family portrait.
