Every spring, Swiss tabloid media report on "the first crop circle of the year." Often, they portray it as if it were the work of extraterrestrials—even though there is no scientific evidence for this. The Ringier media outlet "izzy Magazine" highlighted this fact in a media critique. The result: Hundreds of thousands of Swiss people discussed crop circles and journalism in the spring of 2018.
