Matthieu Zellweger grew up in French-speaking Switzerland. His background as a health science researcher allows him to tell stories rooted in a societal perspective. In his photographic work, he intertwines an empathetic and passionate gaze with the inspirations of a poet to illuminate the recesses of the human soul and reveal the unseen. Matthieu Zellweger's work has received numerous awards. His emotionally charged reportage has been published and exhibited on three continents. He has also published two books: "Secrets of Rice and Water" (2017) and "Worlds Beyond" (2019). Matthieu Zellweger has traveled the world extensively and developed a special connection with Japan and its cultural traditions.
