This article was born from an encounter with Néhemia, a man who lives as a hermit in the woods of Satigny (Geneva). Although he has taken a vow of silence, he has forged ties with the local population by working in the vineyards. But in September 2023, the government decided to expel him from the forest. This article illustrates the impossibility for a person to live apart from society.
