The "cultural rescue" carried out by a Ticino couple in the 1960s. Thanks to Mario and Giovanna Bernasconi, the furnishings of the sumptuous 19th-century Trevano Castle, demolished in 1961, were saved from destruction. Frescoes, marble, fountains, furniture, statues, chandeliers, and other priceless objects (commissioned by the Russian Prince von Derwies) adorn the Bernasconi couple's home.
