ADHD manifests differently in girls than in boys. The syndrome thus largely goes undetected. Because—as is so often the case in medicine—men are considered the prototype. The consequences: a four-fold higher risk of unwanted pregnancy, significantly more addictions, accidents, and suicide attempts. If left untreated, their mortality rate is up to five times higher than that of their male counterparts.
