See You Later, Zooxanthellae!

Claudia Schildknecht

Many reefs have suffered damage due to the climate crisis. The first global coral bleaching event occurred in 1998, followed by events in 2002, 2016, and 2017. Researchers predict the global disappearance of reefs by the middle of the century due to a lack of political action. This study focuses on the northern Great Britain and also examines the theory of "The Shifting Baseline."
