In the quarterfinals of the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship in Riga, Latvia, Switzerland will face Germany on June 3, 2021. After a two-goal lead, Germany equalized the game shortly before the final whistle and ultimately won in a penalty shootout with Marcel Noebels' last-gasp goal. Switzerland, once again, was eliminated by their northern neighbors at a major tournament.
