Every twelve years, the Kerns Alpine Cooperative in Obwalden raffles off its 38 alpine pastures. Those lucky enough to be chosen receive one of the large, flat Bodenalpen pastures. Those unlucky to be forced to reduce their livestock numbers for the coming years. These are anxious moments for 76 farmers.

In Willisau LU geboren im Jahre des Herrn 1982, nach Lehr- und Studienjahren in Fribourg und St. Petersburg wieder heimgekehrt, um beim "Willisauer Boten" Journalismus zu machen, danach bei der Schweizerischen Depeschenagentur eingestiegen und mit dieser seit nunmehr zehn Jahren unterwegs, zuerst in Bern dann in Sydney und zuletzt im Regionalbüro Luzern bei der mittlerweile fusionierten Nachrichtenagentur Keystone-SDA.
