In the summer of 2018, I climbed the Mönch with Carla Jaggi. She was the youngest Swiss mountain guide, and I was writing a report about her. I was belayed by her friend Julian Zanker. He fell to his death a few months later on the neighboring mountain, the Eiger. Jaggi and I met again – for a conversation about death.
