The abandoned Hotel Wildstrubel on the Gemmi, once a 19th-century gem, has stood empty and decaying for 25 years. Although a demolition permit has been granted, owner Wolfgang Loretan is hesitant, as demolition would cost CHF 1.5 million. The hotel, once a symbol of prosperity and cultural life, is now an eyesore, marked by decay and oblivion.
