Basel architect Hannes Meyer, director of the Bauhaus from 1928 to 1930, is remembered. His intellectual legacy is preserved by Ticino lawyer Lucilla Ferroni Giacomazzi. The Bauhaus section returned to Dessau (GDR) at the end of 1988. Urban planner Fabio Giacomazzi discusses Meier's major works, including the Freidorf in Muttenz (BL), the first housing cooperative in Switzerland.
