The 81st Bol d’Or Mirabaud starts on 15 June 2019 on Lake Geneva in bright sunshine with a light breeze. Then a storm brews, surprising the participants of the world’s most important inland sailing regatta with torrential rain, hail and gusts of wind of up to 60 knots. Numerous boats lose their masts or sails, crew members go overboard, some boats sink. Of the 480 boats that launched, 212 have to give up. Ladycat powered by Spindrift Racing wins the memorable race.
