Sister Scolastica stands in a hallway at Wonnenstein Monastery, whose adjoining apartments she once lived in with 41 fellow sisters. Today, she is the only one left. Now, however, the monastery is to be secularized/reconverted into apartments, offices, and commercial space. The Vatican has ordered Scolastica to leave the monastery by October 1, 2022. But she is turning into a squatter—by the grace of God.
