In 2020, Switzerland's first ZAD was established on Mormont Hill, in response to the possible expansion of a quarry operated by the multinational LafargeHolcim. Activists demanded the abandonment of the activities, which threatened Mormont, as well as a radical change in the system in which we operate. They were evacuated at dawn on March 30, 2021, with a spectacular police presence.

Après un passage avorté à l'Université de Lausanne en Sciences Politiques, Léonard Rossi se forme à l'École de Photographie de Vevey. Motivée par les pratiques documentaires et conceptuelles, son approche personnelle gravite autour des thématiques sociales et environnementales actuelles, et de manière plus libre, autour du potentiel narratif de l'image. À travers une esthétique qu'il souhaite cinématographique, il conçoit l’image comme un outil permettant de créer une tension ou provoquer une réflexion sur des sujets traitant quotidien ou de l’actualité. Il désire explorer et questionner ses thématiques de prédilection, tout en continuant son approche liée aux possibilités narratives de la photographie. En parallèle de son activité de photographe basée à Lausanne, il travaille comme technicien de musée ainsi que comme médiateur pour diverses institutions culturelles.
