The Ticino village of Gandria, near Lugano, is known for its olive groves. Every year, the villagers harvest the olives by hand and produce their own olive oil. But this tradition is in danger, as the city of Lugano no longer intends to pay for the care and maintenance of the olive trees. Therefore, the villagers are now dependent on donations.
