February 26: Carnival began in Solothurn two days ago. 2,000 kilometers to the east, the first bombs hit at the same time. This image perfectly captures the ambivalence of those days. Two local residents in full carnival regalia watch the events from afar, their faces painted with laughter but their expressions melancholy. A sunflower is emblazoned on the man's lapel.
