The aim of this sample was to use independent measurements to demonstrate the current level of microplastic contamination in Swiss fields. The data, in conjunction with the latest research findings, show that microplastics are migrating from the soil into plants and from there onto our plates. This insidious contamination is a reality, and the authorities are watching.
