In the fall of 2023, the St. Gallen hospital associations announced a mass layoff of around 440 positions due to pressure to cut costs. One of the first to be affected is Peggy Mühlbauer. The qualified nurse was laid off after 35 years of service at the KSSG – one year before her retirement. She is giving a face to those affected by years of misguided hospital policy in the canton of St. Gallen.

I have been an editor in the politics section of the weekly newspaper "WOZ" since 2024. Before that, I worked at the "St.Galler Tagblatt," where, following my traineeship, I wrote for the Eastern Switzerland section starting in 2021. In 2019, I transitioned from communications to journalism. I gained my first experience in the small, dedicated editorial team of the Bern-based online platform "Babanews." I studied political science and English literature in Zurich and London.
