The Schoenberg district is home to a third of Freiburg's under-20s, representing a quarter of its total population. It's the city's largest, youngest, and most cosmopolitan district, yet it suffers from a lack of infrastructure and a reputation as a troubled area. At the end of March 2025, I went to Freiburg to report on its young residents.
