Davos is increasingly suffering the consequences of the World Economic Forum (WEF): temporary structures, closed restaurants, and deserted shops are a common sight. Nightlife is dying out, with many bars and restaurants only opening during the WEF week. The boom in second homes has led to an acute housing shortage, with many tenancy agreements containing eviction clauses. Many locals are moving away – and blaming the WEF.
