In July 2023, a fire raged through the municipality of Bitche. Hundreds of emergency personnel were deployed for weeks. In the midst of the fire was mayor Edgar Kuonen. Five months later, editor Thomas Jossen met with Kuonen and spoke with him about the most intense days of his life.
