In the fall, voters voted on highway expansion. The majority of these projects were planned on the A1, Switzerland's longest, most important, and busiest highway. It divides and connects Switzerland. Therefore, without prior arrangements with ride-sharing companies, I hitchhiked for work—and was surprised by the openness of my fellow passengers.
