In 2019, we traveled headlong to northern India together—to meet the man who carried out a bomb attack on a Zurich government councilor and a family of lawyers in Winterthur in the 1970s and who is now said to be the head of a spiritual empire in Rishikesh. We wanted to get to know him and talk about devotion, fanaticism, and his past. This proved more difficult than expected.
