In a report, the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, and Communications (DETEC) under Federal Councillor Rösti not only glossed over the effectiveness of biodiversity conservation measures, but also how poor the situation really is for biodiversity in Switzerland. We were able to demonstrate this using internal documents, based on the Freedom of Information Act.

Cornelia Eisenach ist seit Mai 2022 Wissenschaftsjournalistin bei der Republik. Sie schreibt über Gesundheits- und Umweltthemen, fühlt sich aber auch zuständig für nerd-content jeder Art. Zuvor arbeitete sie als Vertretung im Ressort Wissen der NZZ am Sonntag und schrieb als Selbständige für verschiedene Medien, unter anderem für «NZZ», «WOZ», «Beobachter» und «GEO». Ihren Einstieg in den Journalismus machte sie beim inzwischen eingestellten Wissensmagazin «higgs». Eisenach ist promovierte Biologin und lebte lange in Schottland bevor sie 2013 als Postdoc an die Universität Zürich kam. 2018 hängte sie den Laborkittel an den Nagel und absolvierte den CAS Wissenschaftsjournalismus an der Schweizer Journalistenschule MAZ.
