We reach them with difficulty, climbing a snowy mule track, which is getting dark. The Köders and Schmid, with their four children, have lived isolated in the mountains at 1,400 meters for 30 years, respecting nature and the rhythm of the seasons. Their weather-beaten faces have an inner light that softens their features, creating an atmosphere of austere solemnity, which even now continues to challenge us.
