Not all drug addicts die of an overdose. Many \"druggies\" of the past have gone on to reach the age of retirement and there is a place for them in an old age nursing home in the Bernese Oberland. In the Spiez Solina, where these pictures were taken on 28th January 2016, they are allowed to drink, smoke pot and shoot-up with their daily dose of heroin in their rooms. Perhaps for the first time in their lives, they have found a real home.

Rolf Neeser erlernte sein Handwerk an der Schule für Gestaltung Bern, sowie als Assistent renommierter Fotografen. Er wirkte längere Zeit für die internationalen Bildagenturen SIPA und AP (Paris), für Keystone, den Ringier-Axel Springer-Verlag, sowie Tamedia. Zuletzt für die französischsprachige L’Illustré . Seit 35 Jahren ist Rolf Neeser als freischaffender Fotograf tätig. 
Den wachsamen Augen Neesers entgehen aber auch Menschen jenseits des Rampenlichtes nicht: So entstehen immer wieder vielschichtig und feinfühlig inszenierte Porträts und Reportagen über Menschen des Alltags, schillernde Persönlichkeiten und einzigartige Lebensgeschichten.
Neesers Arbeiten wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet und befinden sich in öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen. 2017 erhielt er den SWISS PRESS AWARD/PHOTO in der Sparte Alltag.
