Chernobyl's children have grown up

Niels Ackermann

When the nuclear reactor at Chernobyl exploded thirty years ago, they hadn’t yet been born and their town didn’t yet exist. Lying just outside the
exclusion zone, Slavutych was only built in 1986. Yulia and Zhenya are to be married, but what future awaits them, the children of Slavutych? This photographic essay from the youngest town in Ukraine was created between 2012 and 2015.
